Hello everyone!
I thought I would take a few moments to tell you about myself... especially since we hopefully will be spending a lot of time together!!!
I am a 23-year old aspiring Foreign Service Officer, who is currently slumping the halls of a law school in Georgia. During the second semester of law school I decided that I was completely dissatisfied with the path my life was taking. I could not imagine myself slaving away, stressed out, and practicing law... SOOOO I changed my path. I decided that I would aspire to become a Foreign Service Officer.
Shortly after making that decision, I decided that after going straight through Undergrad and earning a Bachelors in Business Administration and another in Spanish language; earning a Masters in International Affairs; and immediately beginning law school that I needed to take a break from school in general... SOOOO I have decided to take a"gap year" in the middle of my law school career.
While my decision may be unconventional, I finally realized that I have to live my life according to what is best for me.... SOOOO in this fall of this year I plan on relocating to Spain where I will teach English as a teaching assistant with the North American Language and Culture Program. This program is sponsored by the Ministry of Education in Spain.
My top three region locations within this program include:
1. Madrid
2. Catalunya
3. Pais Vasco
I am not too picky about where I end up. As long as I end up in the country of Espana... I'm good! I have always been obsessed with the Spanish community and culture and this obsession passion has led me to actively seek to learn and be a part of this community!
I am hoping to take this year to recenter and refocus myself, because Lawd knows I need it! The stresses and pressures of law school are something one can only imagine, and then often times (as my mother is a witness to), no imagination can really create the realm of intensity in which a 1L student lives. Let's just say... IT'S THE PITS!!!
A few other cositas about myself:
- I LOVE SHOES!!! No seriously!!! I have an addiction... I'm currently recovering.
- My favorite fruit is the nectarine! Soooo good!
- I just learned to use a sewing machine and have been obsessed with my clothes ever since!
- I believe I am probably the only person in the United States who still goes to the grocery and buys a magazine faithfully, EVERY MONTH! (Got to have my InStyle!)
- I regret not taking a break in between all of my educational endeavors
- I am taking back my life... And I plan on living it to the FULLEST!!!
